Our general recruitment processes are as follows:

Recruitment for Editors: Recruitment begins at the end of the academic year (or over the summer vacation) for a position in the following academic year, and usually involves a written statement and an interview with the Editor-in-Chief and the Journal Manager. All students, undergraduates and postgraduates, are welcome to apply.

Contributors: We do not recruit individual contributors to write for the journal. Instead, we open the ‘Call for Abstracts’ or ‘Call for Papers’ during the academic year. Each submission is reviewed only through the merit of the abstract or paper submitted. All students, undergraduates and postgraduates, are welcome to submit an abstract or a paper.

The Law Journal is continuously looking to collaborate with individuals and organisations keen to develop their interest in legal affairs of historic and contemporary importance. Our platform offers the space to engage with legal investigative studies beyond what is currently offered in-faculty at the University of St Andrews. Supported by the Institute of Legal and Constitutional Research, we want to provide our contributors – hailing from a variety of academic backgrounds – a forum to discuss and write about legal issues important to them.
